Meet the team:
The Vehicle Platform Engineering Team is responsible for the design, validation, and delivery of the Glydways Autonomous Transit Vehicle hardware to align with the installation of the Glydways mass transit system. The team works with internal engineering and vendors and is responsible to deliver a vehicle design that generates a fantastic experience for customers while meeting mass transit regulations and all performance criteria. The team works cross-functionally with product design (similar to studio engineering or product requirement team), test validation, external suppliers, and prototype and production manufacturers to design, develop, and build a unique vehicle architecture.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Join a cross functional vehicle platform team with the mission of developing a new light electric vehicle for Glydways rapid transit system

Verify the proper operation of various components of the new vehicle platform

Interact with suppliers on sourcing components which meet technical requirements for the vehicle

Design and implement verification tests including part procurement, harness design/fabrication, test script creation/execution, test execution using internal and external resources, report processing, and working with engineering to improve product performance

Scope may include working with chassis electronics, power electronics, battery pack (modules/inverter/high voltage circuits), powertrain (electric motor, transmission, etc), braking systems, wiring harness specification and routing, safety equipment layout, fault tolerant circuit and system design, HVAC, custom modules, etc
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Prior design work and knowledge in an automotive, automotive startup, or similar setting in at least one of the following: Chassis electronics and actuators, Electrical, powertrain, Wiring harness, Displays, Sensors, Body electronics, Safety critical design, etc

Validation testing for EMI/EMC at the vehicle level down to subcomponents

Familiarity with relevant automotive test specifications such as ISO16750

Vehicle control communications protocols (CAN, Ethernet, etc) and associated diagnostics

Fundamental engineering mindset

Understanding of PCBA schematic and layout

Ability to work in areas of engineering you are unfamiliar with and learn as you go
