Senior FPGA Design Engineer

📍 Location: Bengaluru, India

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior FPGA Design Engineer with strong expertise in FPGA design and development for high-performance embedded systems used in Aerospace and Defence applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in FPGA architecture, RTL development, verification, timing closure, and board bring-up using Xilinx or Intel FPGA platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog.
  • Perform FPGA architecture definition, RTL design, synthesis, implementation, and timing closure.
  • Develop and execute testbenches for functional verification and validation.
  • Work on high-speed interfaces including PCIe, DDR3/DDR4, Ethernet, USB, UART, SPI, and I²C.
  • Integrate and validate ADC/DAC interfaces and embedded peripherals.
  • Perform Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) analysis and Static Timing Analysis (STA).
  • Debug FPGA designs at board level using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and debugging tools.
  • Collaborate with Hardware, Embedded Software, and System Engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews, documentation, verification, and product validation.
  • Support board bring-up, hardware debugging, and production activities.

Required Skills

  • 3–6 years of hands-on FPGA design and development experience.
  • Strong expertise in VHDL and/or Verilog.
  • Experience with Xilinx Vivado and Xilinx ISE.
  • Experience with Intel/Altera Quartus is an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Aerospace, Defence, Avionics, Radar, SATCOM, or Embedded Product Development.
  • Exposure to FPGA-based signal processing or high-speed digital design.
  • Familiarity with embedded processors/SoCs such as Xilinx Zynq is desirable.
  • Experience working in a complete product development lifecycle.

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
