Yandex Market is looking for a Firmware Engineer in Shenzhen to develop embedded firmware for consumer-electronics products.
Join our engineering team to develop production-ready firmware for multiple product lines, including audio, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi devices, embedded Linux platforms, and low-power MCU systems. You will work closely with hardware, product, and manufacturing teams throughout the full product lifecycle, from design to release.
Apply if you have strong C/C++ skills, experience with RTOS or embedded Linux, and fluent Chinese and English .
Tasks that await you:
You will design and implement robust and efficient firmware in C/C++ (including lower-level programming where required) for embedded systems based on microcontrollers and microprocessors. You will also work on both bare-metal platforms and RTOS or OS-based systems, including FreeRTOS, Zephyr, and embedded Linux, depending on product requirements.
You will develop and maintain firmware components such as bootloaders, power-management modules, inter-processor communication, peripheral drivers (SPI, I2C, UART, I2S, Ethernet), audio and data interfaces, and firmware upgrade mechanisms.
You will participate in the complete product development lifecycle, including architecture and design, board bring-up, hardware checkout, signal and hardware validation, debugging, system integration, and preparation for final product release.
You will work closely with hardware, test, project management, product, and manufacturing teams to define requirements, ensure proper firmware and hardware integration, and deliver stable, production-ready solutions.
You will perform firmware debugging, root-cause analysis, and tuning for performance, power consumption, and resource constraints. You will also use tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, JTAG (or equivalent), and other low-level debugging instruments for signal validation and troubleshooting.
You will write and maintain technical documentation, including firmware specifications, design documents, integration guides, release notes, and test and validation results. You will also participate in code reviews, follow coding standards and best practices, and contribute to firmware architecture and design decisions, particularly for complex or multi-processor systems.
You will share best practices, contribute to the continuous improvement of firmware development processes, and mentor junior firmware engineers when applicable.
We expect that you:
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering , computer engineering , computer science , or a related field
• Have 5–7+ years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware development for consumer electronics or embedded systems
• Are proficient in C and C++ , with experience in low-level and register-level programming
• Have experience with at least one (preferably several) of the following domains:
– Audio / Bluetooth SoCs (Qualcomm QCC, Airoha, BES, Realtek, or similar)
– Embedded Linux platforms (ARM-based SoCs, wireless gateways, smart speakers, connectivity systems)
– MCU/RTOS low-power systems (ARM Cortex-M, IoT devices, wearables)
• Have practical experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) and/or embedded Linux environments
• Understand hardware interfaces and communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, I2S, Ethernet, and related peripherals
• Have strong low-level debugging skills, including hardware bring-up and validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to performance, power, and resource constraints
• Communicate effectively and work well with cross-functional teams
• Are fluent in Chinese and English
