Embedded Linux / C Developer 

Location: India (Hybrid / Onsite / Remote) 
Employment Type: Full-time 

 

About the Role 

We are looking for a skilled Embedded Linux / C Developer with strong experience in C programming, Yocto Project, and Linux system development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on exposure to Linux security patching, including kernel and package-level updates, and will work closely with platform, security, and product teams to build and maintain secure Linux-based systems. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and maintain system-level software using C in a Linux environment 

  • Work on Yocto Project to build and customize embedded Linux distributions 

  • Develop and debug applications and system services in a Linux development environment 

  • Apply and manage Linux security patches, including:  

  • Kernel patching and upgrades 

  • Patching and maintaining Linux user-space packages 

  • Analyze CVEs and implement security fixes in a timely manner 

  • Perform root cause analysis and debugging of system-level issues 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, stability, and security 

  • Maintain documentation for builds, patches, and development processes 

 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • Strong proficiency in C programming 

  • Hands-on experience with Yocto Project and embedded Linux builds 

  • Solid understanding of Linux internals and system architecture 

  • Experience working in a Linux development environment 

  • Prior experience in Linux security patching, including:  

  • Linux kernel patching 

  • Security updates for Linux packages 

  • Familiarity with build systems, cross-compilation, and toolchains 

  • Experience with debugging tools such as gdb, strace, and perf 

 

Good to Have 

  • Experience with embedded hardware platforms 

  • Knowledge of secure boot, SELinux/AppArmor, or hardening techniques
