Job Description

Role: Firmware Engineer - CPLD

Location: Bangalore

Exp: 5 to 7 Years

NP: Immediate to 30 Days

Skills: CPLD, FPGA, JTAG, I2C, Python, Verilog or SystemVerilog

What You’ll Do

Design CPLD firmware using Verilog or SystemVerilog for validation boards

Develop And Maintain

Register Map and Technical Reference Manual (TRM) for CPLD Firmware
Power and reset sequencing logic
Test muxing configurations
JTAG debug specifications
Firmware source files, test benches, and automation scripts
Bring-up and debug utilities
Manage CPLD vendor-specific tools including hardware dongles, licenses, and software applications

Align With Vendor Test Plans Covering

Firmware updates
Power cycling scenarios (AC/DC/Warm boot)
I2C register checks
CTA Board Interface Integration
Define and implement interface specifications for FPGA and Raspberry Pi platforms

Experience

5 to 7 years of experience

Strong experience in CPLD/FPGA firmware development using Verilog/SystemVerilog
Proficiency in JTAG, I2C, and other low-level debug interfaces
Familiarity with test automation, scripting (e.g., Python, TCL), and simulation environments
Experience with CPLD vendor tools (e.g., Intel/Altera, Lattice, Microchip)
Hands-on experience with FPGA and Raspberry Pi integration
Ability to create and maintain detailed technical documentation (TRMs, register maps, programming guides)
Exposure to system-level testing and embedded validation workflows
Experience with hardware bring-up and lab debugging tools

Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines
