Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled PCB Design Engineer to join our team in Fremont, CA. In this full-time, onsite role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing complex multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) for high-voltage electronics and gas flow systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative electronic solutions, from conceptual design through manufacturing, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable products. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge high-voltage circuit designs and embedded processor integration within a dynamic engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and layout multi-layer PCBs (up to ten layers) using CAD software such as Altium, SolidWorks PCB, and EAGLE.
  • Perform circuit analysis and simulation, including circuit verification with Gerber and ODB files, and optimize designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Develop attending circuits based on embedded processors used in gas flow electronics, ensuring robust and efficient performance.
  • Oversee the fabrication and testing of prototypes, conducting thorough validation of design specifications and iterating based on test results.
  • Create comprehensive documentation, including fabrication and assembly drawings, Bill-of-Materials, testing routines, and performance reports, complying with industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical design teams, manufacturing, procurement, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration and cost efficiency.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and emerging technologies; propose innovative solutions to enhance product performance.
  • Analyze high-voltage circuits (>200V) and transistor-level designs for reliability and safety.
  • Work on embedded processor hardware, particularly ARM-9, CORTEX, and switching power supplies (buck and boost).
  • Contribute to cost reduction and process improvements throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (not Computer Engineering) or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical circuit design, PCB layout, and testing.
  • Proficiency in PCB CAD software: Altium Designer, SolidWorks PCB, and EAGLE (older versions).
  • Strong understanding of high-voltage circuits (>200V) and transistor-level circuit design.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded processors such as ARM-9, CORTEX, or similar hardware.
  • Experience designing and testing switching power supplies (buck and boost converters).
  • Knowledge of industry standards related to manufacturing processes and materials (e.g., ANSI, SEMI, UHP).
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks Mechanical software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with SPICE circuit simulation software such as LTspice.
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics related to gas delivery and flow systems.
  • Familiarity with general discrete electronics.
  • Project management skills and experience leading engineering projects.
