Job description

As a PCB Design Engineer, you will be overall responsible for PCB layout and the Cadence setup. You will mainly work on power electronics and contribute to the development of high reliability products. You will also support the test department with various test fixtures and other. The position is shared between the Micross office in Denmark and San Jose, California. You will refer to the Engineering Manager in Denmark.


In your new role you will:


  • Prepare schematics for PCB layout based on input from the responsible electrical designer
  • PCB layout (component placement, routing etc.) in close corporation with responsible electrical and mechanical designer
  • Ensure PCB layout complies to international standards and internal design rules
  • Work with PCB vendors ensure manufacturing files are correct
  • Generate 3D models of final populated PCB.
  • Maintain component libraries (schematic symbols, footprint symbols, 3D models etc.)
  • Maintain design rules for layouts
  • Create new symbols as needed
  • Responsible for symbols comply to internal design and manufacturing rules
  • Maintain component database
  • Develop and maintain scripts for automating steps in the PCB layout workflow
  • Update existing PCB layouts as needed based on required changes


A qualified candidate will have experience or expertise in most of the above areas.

You are probably best equipped for this role if you have:

  • Electronics technician degree and professional experience with electronics
  • A University degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field of studies
  • At least 1 year of experience with PCB layout would be preferred
  • Fluency in English (mandatory)
