Job Overview

We are hiring a Protocol Test Engineer with strong expertise in Modbus communication protocol. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of embedded systems, field devices, and industrial automation protocols like Modbus RTU/TCP, with hands-on experience in validation and field simulation testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate Modbus communication between master-slave devices
• Perform packet-level analysis and log decoding
• Use tools like Modbus Poll, ModScan, pymodbus, or in-house simulators
• Write test cases, simulate device behaviors, and perform regression tests
• Interface with hardware and firmware teams for integration issues
• Document protocol compliance, errors, and traceability logs
  
  

Requirements

• 6 to 12 years of experience in embedded or protocol testing
• Strong understanding of Modbus RTU, TCP/IP
• Experience using protocol analyzers, test benches, or writing custom Python test scripts
• Knowledge of registers, coils, bits, and data integrity validation
• Good grasp of RS-485, TCP/IP stacks, and industrial automation flows
  
  

Preferred

• Familiarity with CAN, BACnet, or other industrial protocols
• Experience testing PLC, SCADA, or IoT Gateways
• Basic knowledge of Python or C scripting for test automation
