This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering team developing advanced monitoring and diagnostic solutions used by electrical utilities and industrial customers worldwide.
You'll work on innovative products that help customers monitor the condition of high-voltage transformers, circuit breakers and other critical electrical assets, playing a key role in product development, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing

Troubleshooting complex electronic and electro-mechanical products, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

Supporting hardware design activities, including product enhancements and redesigns driven by component obsolescence and supply chain shortages.

Working closely with hardware, firmware and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of product updates.

Managing small engineering projects to deliver customer-driven product improvements.
-
Supporting manufacturing by improving production yield through the design of test procedures, fixtures and validation methods.

Participating in hardware design reviews and ensuring engineering processes and standards are followed.

Providing technical support across the wider engineering function as required.
What you'll need
-
Degree (or HND with relevant industry experience) in Electronic, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.

Experience in hardware/electronics design.

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
-
Good understanding of embedded systems.
-
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable experience
-
Schematic capture using Altium or similar ECAD software.
-
Multi-layer PCB design.
-
EMC design principles.
-
FPGA development.
-
Command Line Interface (CLI) experience.
-
Firmware knowledge including RTOS or Linux.
-
Python programming.
-
Structured fault-finding methodologies such as 8D or Fishbone analysis.
