Job Description

Company Description VETiNSTANT is an animal health technology company focused on enabling vets to access reliable clinical data from pets quickly and easily. The company develops innovative handheld diagnostic devices that are non-invasive, non-anaesthetic, and simple enough for caregivers to use without medical training, while still capturing clinically accurate data. Its flagship device, ExamD, is being designed for dogs, with solutions for cats, cows, and horses in development, aiming to transform how early diagnosis and intervention happen in animal healthcare. By making quality data collection painless and accessible, VETiNSTANT helps vets get involved sooner, reduces unnecessary hospital visits, and supports preventive and predictive care for animals. The team is driven by a mission to help vets provide timely care and improve outcomes for pets and their caregivers.
Role Description As a Hardware Engineer at VETiNSTANT, you will design, develop, and test electronic hardware for handheld veterinary diagnostic devices. You will work on schematic design, PCB layout, component selection, and integration of sensors, power systems, and embedded electronics to ensure accurate data capture and robust device performance. On a day-to-day basis, you will prototype and validate hardware, perform debugging and optimization, collaborate with embedded software, mechanical, and product teams, and support design for manufacturability and regulatory compliance. You will also contribute to documentation, test protocols, and continuous improvement of existing designs based on user feedback and field performance. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Chennai.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in electronic circuit design, including analog and digital electronics, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
  • Experience with embedded hardware development, microcontrollers, sensor integration, and interfacing with embedded firmware.
  • Hands-on skills in prototyping, lab testing, debugging with oscilloscopes and other test equipment, and hardware validation.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability, reliability, and safety standards; exposure to medical or diagnostic devices is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and document designs and test results thoroughly.
  • Comfort working on-site in a lab and workshop environment, with a proactive approach to solving practical engineering challenges.
  • Interest in animal healthcare technology and a willingness to work closely with product and clinical stakeholders to refine device design.
