Key Responsibilities

Tester Development & Integration

  • Design, build, and maintain subsystem testers, including:
  • Power distribution and protection
  • Signal conditioning and measurement
  • Control, interlocks, and safety circuits
  • Develop custom test hardware including fixture schematics, wiring harnesses, and test jigs.
  • Integrate testers with:
  • Mechanical fixtures
  • Sensors, actuators, power electronics, and embedded systems
  • Lab and production environments

Electrical Characterization & Debugging

  • Perform electrical characterization of subsystems:
  • Voltage/current measurements
  • Signal integrity and timing analysis
  • Noise, grounding
  • Troubleshoot complex issues involving:
  • Analog and digital electronics
  • Power supplies, converters, and motor drives
  • Communication interfaces (I²C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet, USB)

Hands On Lab Execution

  • Support & own test execution in the lab, including:
  • Bring up of new testers and subsystems
  • Debug under schedule pressure
  • Support for design verification and troubleshooting activities
  • Use lab equipment extensively, including:
  • Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, power analyzers
  • Environmental and stress testing setups (as applicable)

Collaboration

  • Work closely with:
  • Design engineers (EE, ME, firmware, systems)
  • Manufacturing

Required Qualifications

  • BTech or Equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience, with the majority focused on:
  • Test system or tester development
  • Subsystem level electrical integration and characterization
  • Demonstrated experience designing, circuit analysis and debugging:
  • Analog and digital circuits
  • Power electronics and low voltage/high current systems
  • Demonstrated experience in complex electrical system design and integration
  • Strong analytical skill in circuit analysis, failure diagnostics
  • Strong in logical reasoning and ability in root cause analysis and proactive corrective actions.
  • Strong practical troubleshooting skills using lab instrumentation
  • Experience taking test systems from concept → build → bring up → sustained support
  • Ability to work directly in the lab and drive issues to closure
  • Ability to clearly document designs, test results, and design changes
  • Experience across the product development lifecycle is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Strongly Preferred Experience

  • Digital, analog and mixed circuit
  • Embedded subsystems
  • Motion control systems
  • Sensor and transducer technologies
  • Power distribution subsystems
  • Proficiency with communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, RS-232, and RS485.
  • Understanding of design considerations for EMI/EMC, thermal management, and reliability

What We Look for in the Resume

We are specifically looking for evidence of:

  • Hands on hardware ownership, not only analysis or oversight
  • Direct tester development (schematics, wiring, fixtures)
  • Subsystem integration and bring up work
  • Real troubleshooting examples, not just theoretical design
  • Consistent execution in lab-based roles over the last 5 years

Work Style & Mindset

  • Practical, “get it working” engineering mindset
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, early development environments
  • Strong ownership of problems from discovery to resolution
  • Collaborative, but able to work independently in the lab
