Job Description

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

  • Design wire harnessing for satellite systems, considering mechanical, electrical, and payload requirements.
  • Support make vs. buy decisions and optimize manufacturing and integration for high-rate production.
  • Engage with suppliers and manufacturers for component and assembly qualification.
  • Develop specifications and procure power/data harnesses meeting electrical design requirements like current rating, shielding, and EMI/EMC.
  • Define and perform harness qualification and acceptance tests for launch environments and mission life.
  • Create 3D CAD routings, 2D manufacturing drawings, schematics, and assembly installation drawings.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in hardware development, test lab, space/aerospace maintenance, or hands-on engineering.
  • Experience with prototyping and implementation.
  • Proficiency in modeling, project management, CAD, and software programming tools.
  • Experience in component selection and understanding of component reliability.
  • 1+ years of experience in wiring selection based on current de-rating, voltage drop, shielding, and mechanical strength.
