Job Description Responsibilities: The Characterization Hardware Engineer Intern’s responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following: Analog circuitry design and verification (TECs, TIAs, Power Supplies, Amplifiers, etc.) Digital circuitry design and verification (MCU, Memory, Transistors, etc.) Mixed signal circuitry design, simulation and verification (ADCs, DACs) Potential product re-spin using Cadence OrCAD, Allegro and Siemens PADS design tools Proficiency in LAB tools (Oscilloscopes and DMMs). Characterize of high-speed optical transceivers Set up R&D stations, execute debugging on test stations and modules Execute Design Verification Tests.
Write technical reports Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software, firmware, optical, MFG, and mechanical.
Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidates will be enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Electrical, Computer, Optical Engineering or Physics. Desired Qualifications: Candidates have taken graduate courses on optical communications, and/or RF, digital and analog circuit design. Other relevant areas may be considered. Solid foundation in digital, analog circuit design, and optics Experience with optical transceivers or transmission optical subsystems Lab experience with optical and circuit equipment Knowledge of optical architectures and systems is an asset. Software development experience (Phyton, C) is preferred Experience with GUI Development, Word Macro/Templates/ Outline/Table, Excel, Matlab Proficient in data analysis and organization Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills Good English communication skills
