Position Description

We are currently seeking for a Firmware Engineer to join our dynamic R&D team developing next-generation In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) instruments. In this role, you will design and develop embedded software that controls diagnostic devices, enabling precise biological assays that improve lives worldwide.

This is a 100% onsite based role (with flexibility to work from home if needed).

As Part Of Our Instrumentation Team, You Will

  • Support R&D activities in firmware and system development.
  • Work hands-on with prototype instruments and acquisition systems.
  • Design and implement control algorithms for fluidics, thermal systems, optics, and mechanical actuators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, systems, assay development).
  • Develop small applications to automate workflows and analyze experimental data.
  • Troubleshoot customer complaints related to on-market instruments.
  • Ensure documentation complies with health and safety regulations.

Position Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Engineering (Automation, Mechanical, Electronics) or Physics.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in scientific or industrial instrumentation, preferably within regulated environments such as medical devices or diagnostics.
  • A proactive mindset and a strong problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and compliance.
  • Multidisciplinary technical knowledge in areas such as: Programming (Python, C, C++), HMI development, Machine vision, Databases, Optics, fluid dynamics, thermal management, SolidWorks and machining (e.g., CNC).
  • Fluent level of Spanish and English, with effective communication skills in both written and spoken form.
