Responsibilities


This position is within the Electronic Industrial Solutions Group (EISG), where we research, innovate, develop, and manufacture the world’s most advanced manufacturing test solutions used to produce various electronic products, such as notebook motherboards, automotive ECUs, and smart meters. 

As a senior Firmware Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team of R&D engineers developing next-generation electrical systems and components. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Develop and maintain embedded firmware for electronic devices. 
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to design and implement firmware solutions. 
  • Test and debug firmware to ensure reliability and performance. 
  • Document firmware design and development processes. 
  • Assist in the development of software validation plans and conduct performance testing. 
  • Provide post-production support and updates to firmware as needed. 
  • Stay updated with advancements in firmware development and embedded systems 

Qualifications


  • Recognized degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science. 
  • Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages. 
  • Understanding of microcontrollers and real-time operating systems. 
  • Experience with embedded systems development and troubleshooting. 
  • Familiarity with firmware development tools and defect tracking tools. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Experience using equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for problem resolution and design verification. 
  • Knowledge related to low-level device driver development for peripherals like SPI, I2C, Ethernet is an added advantage. 
  • Familiarity with version control software – Git. 
  • Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
