Job Description:

In this role, you will research, design, and develop programs for laser-based 3D measurement devices. Your primary focus will be on production setup, calibration, and characterization of hardware during manufacturing. Additionally, you will create device drivers, implement Linux customizations, and enhance our CI system and internal development tools.

The Embedded Software Engineer is the position that will be located at Oslo, Norway and reports to Head R&D department.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize factory calibration programs for our proprietor devices and essential process control systems.
  • Develop programs for data reduction chain, optimizing measurements accuracy and geometrical calibration.
  • Develop interfaces, and device drivers for product integration.
  • Write test specs, create test cases and write test automation code (unit, integration and regression) to meet the quality gates and release requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams and mentor other developers
  • Create and maintain libraries, frameworks, and build systems to enable application software work, including the root file system of the device and its regulatory compliance.
  • Improve and nurture the CI system, including unit tests, static, and dynamic analysis.
  • Responsible for specification, development, test and documentation of software.
  • Support to sales, production and customers in the field


Must have Skills:

  • Extensive experience with embedded systems, including proficiency with Linux (Yocto), kernel module development, and bootloaders such as u-boot.
  • Experience with nonlinear methods utilizing mathematical and computational techniques to solve complex problems.
  • Proficiency in Modern C++, with a focus on real-time embedded programming under resource-constrained environments.
  • Experience with time-of-flight or other LiDAR range finding sensors.


Qualification:

  • Bachelor/ Master or equivalent in one of the areas Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Measurement Technology.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant programming experience.
