Job Description

Company Description

UDAR Systems Labs is building cutting-edge solutions to solve the global challenge of invisible infrastructure, including hidden utilities, electrical systems, and buried assets that cause delays, hazards, and cost overruns across multiple industries. The company’s next-generation handheld scanner delivers instant, on-device 3D insight through walls, floors, structures, and ground with sub-millimetre clarity and no post-processing. Using advanced multi-sensor fusion, custom AI/ML algorithms, and real-time predictive analysis, UDAR provides non-intrusive visibility into critical infrastructure in any environment. UDAR is creating a real-time global intelligence layer for the world’s hidden systems, enabling safer operations, faster builds, and smarter decisions. The vision is to establish a new global standard for seeing and understanding what has previously remained invisible.

Role Description

As a Co-Founder Ground Penetrating Radar Engineer / Antenna and PCB Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of GPR hardware, antennas, and PCBs for UDAR’s handheld scanning platform. You will translate system requirements into high-performance RF, antenna, and PCB architectures, run simulations, perform prototyping, and oversee lab and field testing to ensure reliable performance in real-world conditions. You will collaborate closely with firmware, signal processing, and AI teams to integrate hardware with multi-sensor fusion and real-time analysis pipelines. In addition, you will help define product roadmaps, contribute to technical strategy, and support investor, partner, and customer discussions as a co-founder. This is a full-time hybrid role based in the Copenhagen Metropolitan Area, with flexibility for partial work from home.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills for system design, signal interpretation, performance optimization, and troubleshooting of GPR, RF, antenna, and PCB systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, explain complex technical concepts clearly, and contribute to investor and partner presentations.
  • Ability to support sales-related technical discussions, including product demonstrations, feasibility assessments, and customer solution design.
  • Understanding of marketing considerations for hardware products, including positioning of technical capabilities and input into product messaging and documentation.
  • Advanced research capabilities to explore novel antenna architectures, materials, PCB layouts, and signal processing approaches for ground penetrating radar and multi-sensor systems.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, RF Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with RF design tools, EM simulation, PCB design software, lab measurement equipment, and hardware bring-up.
  • Background in radar, GPR, RF systems, antennas, or high-speed PCB design; experience with embedded systems integration is highly beneficial.

Nice to Have

• Prior startup work and strong hardware product experience.

• Background in geophysics, subsurface sensing, or adjacent radar applications (automotive, defense, or aerospace RF systems)

• Familiarity with embedded systems and sensor fusion pipelines

• Danish or EU regulatory experience relevant to RF-emitting devices

Ownership of Execution

This role carries direct ownership of commercial project execution on the hardware side from client and pilot-facing technical demonstrations through to field deployment not just lab-bound R&D. As co-founder, you’ll be accountable for hardware performance in front of real customers, on real sites, under real conditions.

How to Apply

Send your CV and portfolio (prior hardware projects, PCB layouts, RF/antenna work - whatever best demonstrates hands-on depth) to : [email protected]
