Boeing Korea Engineering and Technology Center (BKETC) is seeking an Antenna/RF Systems Engineer based in Seoul, South Korea.

In this role, you will contribute to the development, testing and integration of RIS(Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface) System in future aircraft connectivity. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative working environment and is committed to customer satisfaction and process improvement. This is a highly visible, multi-year strategic effort that impacts all areas of the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and develop antennas and RF systems for aviation applications
  • Perform electromagnetic simulations using tools such as CST and HFSS
  • Conduct RF testing and validation using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and compact antenna test ranges (CATR) in lab environments
  • Optimize beamforming performance and antenna radiation patterns in frequency bands from UHF to mmWave
  • Collaborate on the integration of RF hardware (e.g., FPGA-based digital controllers) and perform system-level testing
  • Support Model-Based Development (MBD) and RF-related optimization tasks
  • Prepare detailed design and verification documentation according to system requirements, and participate in design reviews


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, RF Engineering, Telecommunications with at least 5 years of experience; or Masterโ€™s degree with at least 3 years of experience; or doctoral degree;
  • Experience in antenna design, RF systems, or electromagnetic engineering
  • Proficiency with electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., CST Microwave Studio, HFSS)
  • Hands-on experience with RF measurement equipment (e.g., VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators)
  • Practical experience in PCB design and selection of RF materials
  • Understanding of high-frequency circuit design and impedance matching principles
  • Ability to analyze S-parameters and antenna radiation patterns
  • Basic knowledge of EMI/EMC design considerations and filtering techniques
  • Excellent technical documentation and presentation skills
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define research objectives, scope, and methodologies, and contribute to project planning and execution.
  • Applicants must have the enthusiasm to learn new technologies and improve their skillsets
  • Proper English communication skill in verbal and written


Preferred Experience:


  • Experience in aerospace or aviation-related system projects
  • Knowledge or experience in aviation standards and airworthiness certification processes (DO-254, DO-178C)
  • Experience or familiarity with RIS(Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface), metasurfaces, or phased array antennas
  • Understanding of Model-Based Design methodologies (MATLAB, Simulink)
  • Experience with reinforcement learning or AI-based beamforming optimization
  • Participation in national or international R&D projects, especially industry-academia collaborations
  • Knowledge or experience with IEEE standards, ETSI standards, or other international standards
