Job Description

Wireless Network Hardware Engineer

Location: Plano, TX (Onsite)


We are seeking a Wireless Network Hardware Engineer to support wireless network maintenance activities, software upgrades, troubleshooting, and operational support for LTE and 5G network environments. This role requires strong knowledge of RAN, IP networking, Linux, and wireless network architecture, with the ability to execute maintenance activities during scheduled maintenance windows.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute scheduled maintenance activities during maintenance windows, including pre- and post-validation checks.
  • Perform software and firmware upgrades on network elements, including eNBs, small cells, and related network equipment.
  • Collect, analyze, and troubleshoot logs in collaboration with engineering and HQ teams.
  • Execute scripts and collect operational data as required.
  • Review and validate MOPs (Methods of Procedure) and identify potential issues or missing steps.
  • Monitor alarms, traffic, and cell status before and after maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers performing network maintenance activities.
  • Manage and escalate network issues following established escalation procedures.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to support network deployments and maintenance operations.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting wireless network operations, RAN, or IP networking environments.
  • Strong knowledge of LTE, 5G, RAN architecture, and IP networking (IPv4/IPv6).
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX operating systems .
  • Proficiency with terminal applications such as SecureCRT, Xshell, or PuTTY.
  • Scripting experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience performing software upgrades, maintenance activities, and network validation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage escalations, and support on-call or after-hours maintenance activities.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Verizon or Samsung or Ericsson wireless network equipment.
  • Knowledge of mobile network interworking and wireless deployments .
  • Experience mentoring or training junior engineers.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting tools .
