Staff Analog Design Engineer – Milan

OnSemi is seeking a Staff Analog design Engineer, NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, Power Management, to join our growing team in Milano, Italy. This group is responsible for development of Power management products including Multiphase controllers, smart power FETs and DC-DC converters for consumer, industrial and automotive applications. In this role, you will focus on the following.

Responsibilities:

  • Design analog and mixed-signal blocks and chip top level
  • Comprehensive simulation coverage of all circuits designed
  • Contribute to product definition, specification review, feasibility, and architecture
  • Assist with design schedule and die size estimation
  • Optimize circuit size and performance
  • Support post-silicon validation and debug
  • Design, simulation, and verification of power converter IC using state of the art EDA tools.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 5 years of experience, or MS + 3 years of experience
  • Solid knowledge of EDA design tools and Cadence design environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of power conversion architectures such as Buck, Boost, LDOs, gate drivers, comparators, linear regulators gm-stage and relevant Analog building blocks.
  • Familiarity with advanced Bipolar, CMOS, and High Voltage BCD technology, Process, Device Physics, Semiconductor Manufacturing processes, and their impact on Analog performance
  • Understanding of analog and mixed signal circuits including amplifies, bandgap, data converters, current sense amplifiers etc.
  • Understanding of modelling in Verilog A/AMS/System Verilog
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in leading-edge design and verification tools such as Simplis or MATLAB for architectural simulations, Cadence Spectre for schematic capture, simulation, layout, and tape-out
  • Ability to quickly ramp on new systems and processes
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
