Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Integration Engineer to join our on-site Integration Team at our Auburn Hills Headquarters & Technology Center. This role plays a critical part in the integration, testing, and release of embedded software supporting gasoline engine programs. You will collaborate closely with software development, hardware engineering, and quality teams to ensure high-performing, reliable, and compliant software systems. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Integrate, test, and release embedded software for automotive powertrain applications
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with software, hardware, and quality engineering teams
  • Perform software integration testing using HIL systems and vehicle communication protocols including CAN and LIN
  • Support defect identification, root cause analysis, and issue resolution across integration cycles
  • Manage software builds and versions using configuration management tools such as Git
  • Utilize tools including dSPACE, ETAS INCA, Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, and Lauterbach Trace32
  • Develop and execute test scripts using C, C++, Python, and CAPL
  • Contribute to agile development processes including sprint execution and continuous integration
  • Ensure compliance with ASPICE and ISO 26262 functional safety standards. 
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software testing is required. Preferably in the automotive domain.
  • Good experience in Configuration Management tools such as Git.
  • Good knowledge of tools such as dSPACE tools, INCA, Lauterbach Trace32, Vector CANoe and CANalyzer.
  • Good experience in ETAS INCA Tool, Control desk or related tool.
  • Ability to read and write software in C, C++, Python, AND CAPL
  • Experience in agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 5 or more years of experience with development and testing of powertrain controls in hybrid and/or electric vehicles.
  • Flexibility -- must be able to adapt to changing environment with minimal effect on productivity.
  • Software integration testing on HIL systems, CAN, LIN, or related vehicle communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with ASPICE process areas and their application in testing.
  • Solid understanding of ISO 26262 and experience with functional safety testing.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, m-scripting, Visual Basic Experience with AUTOSAR compliant controller development.
