Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to support the development of base software for propulsion and powertrain control systems. This role focuses on low-level embedded software development within a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) environment, supporting next-generation automotive technologies including internal combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicle systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, andĀ validateĀ high-quality software aligned with AUTOSAR architecture and functional safety standards.Ā

Key ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Develop andĀ maintainĀ embedded base software components for propulsion and EE control modulesĀ 
  • Perform software requirements analysis, design, coding, and unit and integration testing using C/C++Ā 
  • Create and execute test plans including white box, black box, and gray box testingĀ 
  • Review software requirements, architecture, code, and test documentation to ensure quality and compliance
  • Configure and integrate AUTOSAR basic software modules such as OS, MCAL, CAN, LIN, DEM, DCM, and WDG
  • Work with low-level drivers and diagnostics to support system-level functionality
  • Utilize debugging tools, emulators, and compilers for issue identification and resolution
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to define and refine software requirements
  • Support virtualization and simulation-based development methodologiesĀ 
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:Ā 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related Engineering degree
  • 1+ years' total experience with embedded C/C++ software (hand-coding) in a Real Time Operating System environment.Ā 
  • Experience in Vector/ETAS/AUTOSAR Basic Software configuration of modules like OS, MCAL, IOHWAB, FEE, WDG, DEM, DCM, CAN, LIN, XCP.Ā 
  • Experience with multicore microprocessors, ability to interpret hardware schematics, and Functional Safety concepts (ISO 26262).Ā 
  • Experience with compilers,Ā emulators, (Lauterbach) debuggers, and automation scripting.Ā 
  • Experience in software verification/validation including white box, black box, and gray box testing.Ā 
  • Familiarity with automotive software code quality standards like MISRA-C.
  • Strong communicationĀ skills, both verbal and written.Ā 
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment with minimal effect on productivity.Ā 
  • Experience using data acquisition tools like ETAS, INCA,Ā CANoe, CANalyzer.
  • Experience with NXP Cobra-55,Ā AurixĀ TC family of automotive microprocessors.Ā

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering.Ā 
  • Automotive experience either at work or university, such as Formula SAE or SAEĀ EcoCar.Ā 
  • Experience in Vector SLP communication stack configurations and implementation of CAN/LIN/XCP.Ā 
  • Experience withĀ ElectrobitĀ EBTREOS Studio MICROSAR configuration.Ā 
  • Strong understanding of internal combustion engines, hybrid, battery electric, and/or vehicle subsystems.Ā 
  • Strong experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.Ā 
  • Experience in simulation/virtual methodologies and/or tools.Ā 
  • Experience implementing Embedded Real-Time Controls and Software solutions.Ā
