Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior Power Electronics Engineer is responsible for designing, simulating, developing, testing, and validating power electronic systems such as AC-DC and DC-DC converters. The role involves schematic design, PCB collaboration, laboratory testing, debugging, documentation, and working with cross-functional engineering teams to develop reliable and compliant power electronic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and develop power electronic circuits including AC-DC and DC-DC converters.
  2. Perform circuit simulations using LTspice or similar simulation tools.
  3. Create schematics using CAD tools such as Mentor Graphics and Altium.
  4. Collaborate with PCB layout engineers during board development.
  5. Prototype, test, and validate power electronic circuits and components.
  6. Assemble and maintain laboratory test setups and perform electrical measurements.
  7. Document circuit designs, test procedures, and validation results.
  8. Ensure designs consider relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  9. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to meet system requirements.
  10. Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting during testing and production.

Required Skills & Experience

Skills

  1. Strong knowledge of power circuit design involving power semiconductor devices, gate drivers, and passive components.
  2. Good understanding of power converter and inverter topologies.
  3. Experience with microcontrollers and peripherals such as PWM and ADC.
  4. Strong hardware and firmware debugging skills.
  5. Experience with circuit simulation and schematic design tools.

Experience

  1. 6–9 years of overall engineering experience.
  2. 2–4 years of hands-on experience in designing power electronic systems such as DC-DC converters or chargers.

Qualifications

1.     Bachelor's (B.Tech) or Master's (M.Tech) degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related specialization.

2.     6–9 years of professional experience in power electronics engineering.

3.     Demonstrated experience in power converter or charger design and development.

Nice to Have

1.     Experience working with non-ideal characteristics of diodes, MOSFETs, transformers, and inductors.

2.     Understanding of PCB layout techniques and their impact on electrical performance.

3.     Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance and safety standards such as UL, VDE, IEC, and BIS.

Experience with simulation and design tools such as PSIM, MATLAB, Allegro, and HyperLynx, in addition to LTspice.
