Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to join our engineering team developing high-power electronic products for automotive and industrial applications.

The successful candidate will contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from requirements definition and design through validation, certification, homologation, and production. The role requires strong practical experience in power electronics together with the ability to translate customer, system, and regulatory requirements into hardware and firmware design requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high-power power electronic products, including DC/DC converters, DC/AC inverters, battery chargers, motor drives, and related control systems.
  • Capture customer, system, and regulatory requirements and translate them into clear engineering specifications and verification plans.
  • Participate in hardware design, design reviews, simulation, testing, debugging, and product validation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable automotive and industrial standards throughout product development.
  • Plan and execute electrical, EMC, environmental, thermal, reliability, and functional testing.
  • Prepare validation documentation, requirements traceability, and certification packages for product homologation.
  • Work closely with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and systems engineers to resolve technical issues and deliver robust products.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience developing high-power power electronic products.
  • Proven experience designing, validating, and commercialising switch-mode power supplies, DC/DC converters, or inverters above 10 kW.
  • Experience taking products from concept through design, compliance testing, certification, and production.
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, control systems, thermal design, magnetics, and high-power PCB layout.
  • Proficiency with SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent simulation tools for control loop, transient, and thermal analysis.
  • Extensive laboratory experience using oscilloscopes, high-voltage differential probes, current probes, spectrum analysers, and power analysers to debug power electronic systems, including EMI/EMC issues.
  • Demonstrated experience working safely with high-energy systems exceeding 500 VDC.
  • Knowledge of automotive standards, including ISO/SAE 21434, ISO 26262, UNECE R155/R156, CISPR 25, ISO 7637, ISO 16750, and relevant IEC standards.

Personal Attributes

  • Practical, hands-on engineer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Comfortable converting requirements into practical engineering solutions.
  • Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
  • Committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Please apply only if your experience closely matches the qualifications and technical requirements outlined above. This position is intended for an experienced engineer with a proven track record in high-power power electronics development and product commercialisation.
