Senior Mechatronics and Robotics Lead
Job Summary
Lead maintenance operations for automated systems including conveyors, robotics, and material handling equipment. This role promotes safety while training team members, troubleshooting complex systems, and managing preventative maintenance programs. Position requires expertise in electrical systems, industrial electronics, and leadership of maintenance teams to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Team Leadership

Promote safe working environment by following all safety procedures and protocols

Train team members on safe operation and basic maintenance of automated equipment

Develop training plans for service technicians and maintenance staff

Lead and audit preventative maintenance procedures across all systems

Maintain positive working relationships throughout the operations facility
System Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems in the building
-
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, and control components
-
Work with photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, and solenoids
-
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and software issues affecting equipment functionality
-
Execute corrective maintenance activities to restore system performance promptly
Robotic Cell & Automated Equipment Maintenance
-
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on AutoStore, Case Conveyor, Pallet Conveyor, Spirals, Robotics, and ML2 systems

Perform scheduled maintenance on material handling equipment and conveyor systems
-
Identify and address mechanical, electrical, and control system performance issues
-
Execute repairs, adjustments, and component replacements for optimal functionality
Work Management & Documentation

Create and close out work orders with detailed data including labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used

Develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assets
-
Manage work order systems and maintenance scheduling

Collaborate with vendors and internal/external service providers for specialized repairs
Physical Requirements

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent

5+ years experience working with automated conveyors and controls

5+ years experience with electrical and electronic principles and industrial electronics

5+ years experience conducting preventative maintenance programs
-
5+ years experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
-
3+ years work order management experience

3+ years experience leading a maintenance team
Technical Skills

Proficiency with relay logic and ladder diagram interpretation

Knowledge of electrical control components and industrial automation systems

Understanding of mechanical systems, motors, and material handling equipment

Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software integration issues

Experience with preventative maintenance scheduling and execution

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field

Experience with AutoStore robotic systems and warehouse automation

Certification in specific automation platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)

PLC programming and troubleshooting experience

Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)

Knowledge of lean maintenance practices and reliability-centered maintenance

Supervisory or team lead certification

Experience in distribution, fulfillment, or manufacturing environments

Additional certifications in electrical, mechanical, or automation systems

Experience with vendor management and service contract oversight

Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, NFPA, NEC) for industrial automation
Working Conditions
This position operates in an automated warehouse/distribution environment with exposure to moving machinery, electrical systems, and industrial automation equipment. Work includes both day and potentially extended shifts up to 12 hours. Position requires physical activity including lifting, standing, walking, and working in various positions to access equipment for maintenance and repairs.
