POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for developing firmware designs in compliance with established DO-254 processes while collaborating effectively within a team environment. This role covers the complete product lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design documentation, coding, low-level test procedure development, hardware integration testing, and problem report investigation. This is a senior-level position requiring minimal oversight on assignments and no direct supervisory responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Independently estimate task durations and complete assigned work within agreed-upon timeline

Adhere to established PLD development methodologies and procedural standard

For small-scale to large-scale/system-level firmware modifications

Create and review firmware requirements documentation

Develop and review firmware design artifact

Code, test, debug, and review source cod
-
Integrate firmware into existing system architecture
-
Develop and execute simulation-based verification
-
Perform physical bench-level testing in a laboratory environment
-
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional team member
-
Investigate and resolve complex system or firmware problem report
-
Review and contribute input to product and/or system-level requirement
-
Recommend process improvements and product enhancements as appropriate

Support cost and resource estimation (ROM) for business development proposal

Mentor junior engineers on firmware development practices and company product

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline

Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in hardware/firmware engineering, with skills commensurate with the technical requirements below
TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Advanced proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog
-
Deep understanding of digital logic design and verification principles as applied to FPGA development
-
Working knowledge of industry best practices across the full firmware development lifecycle
-
Strong systematic troubleshooting and diagnostic reasoning abilities
-
Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting
COMPUTER & TOOL SKILLS

Proficiency with personal computers and standard operating systems

Experience with FPGA development suites, programming tools, and debugging environment

Familiarity with version control systems and configuration management practice
COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to compose professional correspondence and clearly convey technical information to colleagues in English
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply mathematical concepts relevant to digital electronics design, including Boolean algebra, DeMorgan's theorem, Karnaugh mapping, and related logic minimization techniques
