Senior FPGA Engineer

We are partnering with an innovative defense electronics company in the Nashua, NH area seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to lead the design, simulation, and integration of high-performance FPGA-based electro-optical systems.

This role is heavily focused on real-time video processing, sensor interfaces, and hardware integration in mission-critical defense applications .

What you’ll do

• Design and implement FPGA-based digital systems from architecture through integration and lab validation
• Develop and optimize RTL using VHDL / Verilog (SystemVerilog a plus)
• Build and support high-speed video and sensor processing pipelines (MIPI, LVDS, camera interfaces)
• Perform simulation, synthesis, timing closure, and hardware bring-up
• Debug complex integration issues using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
• Work cross-functionally with hardware and system engineering teams to deliver production-ready systems

Required experience

• 6–10+ years FPGA design experience
• Strong proficiency with Xilinx / AMD FPGA toolchains (Vivado preferred)
• Deep RTL design experience (VHDL or Verilog)
• Experience with FPGA simulation, synthesis, and timing closure
• Hands-on lab debug and hardware integration experience
• Experience working with high-speed interfaces (DDR, SERDES, Ethernet, etc.)

Preferred experience

• Video processing / imaging pipelines (MIPI, LVDS, camera sensors)
• Defense, aerospace, or other mission-critical embedded systems
• Board-level hardware familiarity (schematics, bring-up, troubleshooting)
• Experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, or advanced verification methods
