Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join a device-focused development team working on connected products and IoT solutions. The ideal consultant is a highly experienced software engineer who can contribute hands-on while also bringing stability, technical leadership, and a calm, structured approach to the team.

You will be involved in the development, integration, and maintenance of embedded software running on connected devices, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for connected devices.
• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of IoT solutions.
• Develop and optimize software components using Python and other relevant technologies.
• Support integration between device software, cloud services, and backend systems.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams in an agile environment.
• Provide senior-level guidance and help create stability and structure within the development team.
• Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience in embedded software development.
• Strong background in IoT and connected device solutions.
• Solid programming skills in Python.
• Experience working with device-level software, firmware, or embedded systems.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, testing, and system integration.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience from large-scale industrial, automotive, transportation, or connected-product environments.
• Experience from organizations such as Scania, Stonebridge, or similar technology-driven companies is highly valued.
• Ability and willingness to spend time onsite when required.
• Proven track record as a senior consultant capable of mentoring others and creating a positive, stable team environment.
