The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will also provide technical guidance, mentor less experienced team members, and ensure that project deliverables align with quality, safety, and performance standards.
Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in embedded software development using languages such as C and C++, including experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and low-level programming.
  • Experience working with microcontrollers and microprocessors, hardware interfaces (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART), and interpreting hardware schematics and datasheets.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including version control (e.g., Git), unit testing, integration testing, and continuous integration pipelines.
  • Understanding of communication protocols, embedded networking, and performance optimization techniques for resource-constrained systems.
  • Ability to analyze requirements, design system architectures, and produce clear technical documentation and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to debug complex issues in embedded and mixed hardware–software environments.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in multidisciplinary teams and mentoring other engineers.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in safety-critical, automotive, industrial, or IoT domains is a plus; familiarity with relevant standards and certification processes is beneficial.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment based in Porto, with the ability to manage time and priorities across on-site and remote work.
