Monil is building world-leading technology for virtual fencing and livestock monitoring. In just four years, we’ve grown to over 1,000 customers and more than 50,000 collars across multiple markets. We are now entering a new phase of international growth, and the next generation of products and capabilities will be critical to our success.
At the heart of our solution is a collar that combines animal interaction, sensors, positioning, and wireless communication. Operating in remote environments with only a small solar panel as its energy source, the collar must reliably deliver virtual fencing and continuous livestock monitoring under strict energy and connectivity constraints.
We're looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer who wants to build products that operate in the real world and have a direct impact on sustainable agriculture and animal welfare.
Design and develop embedded software for next-generation livestock monitoring devices
Lead firmware development from concept through deployment and field validation
Build reliable low-power systems using cellular, GNSS, wireless communication, sensors, and on-device machine learning
Work closely with hardware, cloud, and product teams to bring new features from concept to field deployment
Drive software quality, architecture, and technical best practices across the platform
5+ years of experience in embedded software development
Strong C/C++ skills and experience developing firmware for resource-constrained systems
Experience with modern embedded software architectures, development practices, and CI/CD
Experience building connected embedded systems and working with communication protocols
Solid understanding of low-power system design and energy-constrained devices
Experience with one or more of the following:
Cellular technologies (LTE-M, NB-IoT, 4G/5G)
GNSS
Bluetooth Low Energy and other wireless technologies
Sensor integration, signal processing, edge ML
Device management and OTA updates
Passionate about building reliable products that operate in challenging real-world environments
Comfortable taking ownership and driving projects from idea to deployment
Pragmatic, curious, and motivated by solving complex engineering challenges
A strong collaborator who communicates effectively across technical and non-technical teams
Meaningful impact on animal welfare and sustainable agriculture
Challenging engineering problems in low-power, connected systems
Opportunity to shape industry-leading products during a period of international growth
A collaborative environment with significant ownership and learning opportunities
Competitive compensation and benefits
