Senior Embedded C++ Software Engineer (C++/.NET)

📍 Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid/Onsite)

🕒 Employment Type: Contract-to-Permanent (Temporary to Full-Time)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded C++ Software Engineer to join our client's engineering team. This role focuses on developing software for integrated hardware devices, requiring strong expertise in embedded systems, firmware, and hardware-software integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software using modern C++ .
  • Develop and support firmware for integrated hardware devices.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Perform hardware-software integration, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop applications using the latest .NET technologies.
  • Create and execute unit tests and regression tests to ensure software quality.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous product improvement.
  • Support product validation and system integration activities.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in C++ software development.
  • Strong expertise in modern C++ (C++11/14/17 or later).
  • Experience with embedded systems and integrated hardware devices.
  • Hands-on experience in firmware development .
  • Experience with hardware-software integration and device communication.
  • Proficiency with the latest .NET framework/.NET Core/.NET 6+.
  • Experience with unit testing and regression testing .
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with embedded Linux or RTOS environments.
  • Knowledge of hardware communication protocols (USB, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, etc.).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and version control tools (Git).
  • Experience working with test automation is a plus.
Language Requirements
  • French: Working proficiency required (able to communicate in meetings; perfect fluency is not necessary).
  • English: Professional working proficiency.
