Senior Embedded Automation Engineer

We are currently looking for an Embedded Software Engineer (CODESYS) to join an international client and play a key role in developing industrial automation and IIoT solutions for embedded Linux platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain industrial automation applications using CODESYS and Embedded Linux.
• Install, configure, and deploy CODESYS Control for Linux on ARM-based target systems.
• Design and implement hardware control libraries and device descriptions using the CODESYS SDK.
• Develop software for low-level hardware communication, including GPIO integration and embedded device interfaces.
• Implement and integrate industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA and MQTT.
• Develop and maintain reusable CODESYS libraries for hardware control and automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot, optimise, and improve embedded software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and continuous improvement of the software development process.

Requirements :

• Strong commercial experience with CODESYS Control for Linux, including installation and deployment on ARM target systems.
• Excellent programming skills in C/C++.
• Experience using the CODESYS SDK to create and modify device descriptions (XML).
• Proven experience developing CODESYS libraries (.library) for hardware control.
• Hands-on experience with the CODESYS Development System IDE.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within distributed teams.

Nice to have :

• Experience developing software for industrial automation or control systems.
• Familiarity with custom hardware platforms and embedded device integration.
• Experience optimising software performance on resource-constrained embedded systems.
