Senior Digital Hardware Engineer (FPGA / High-Speed Digital Design)

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

As a Senior Digital Hardware Engineer, you will play a key role in the architecture, design, development, and validation of next-generation hardware platforms. Working alongside FPGA, RF, software, and systems engineering teams, you will help deliver mission-critical products that operate in some of the world's most demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Architecture & Design

• Design and develop complex high-speed mixed-signal hardware platforms incorporating FPGA, DSP, microprocessor, microcontroller, and transceiver technologies.
• Define hardware architectures and technical solutions for advanced communication and signal-processing systems.
• Develop detailed hardware specifications, schematics, and design documentation.

High-Speed Digital Systems

• Architect and implement solutions using high-speed interfaces including PCIe Gen4, SERDES, Ethernet, SRIO, and JESD.
• Perform signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis to ensure reliable operation of high-performance digital systems.
• Collaborate with PCB layout engineers to optimise board-level designs and routing constraints.

Board Bring-Up & Validation

• Lead board bring-up activities including debugging, troubleshooting, hardware validation, and performance verification.
• Support manufacturing, testing, and product qualification activities using JTAG and boundary scan tools.
• Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of complex hardware issues.

Compliance & Product Development

• Ensure designs meet thermal, EMI, EMC, and environmental requirements.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including FPGA, software, systems, RF, and mechanical engineering groups.
• Contribute throughout the full product lifecycle from concept and architecture through to deployment and support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience designing complex high-speed digital and mixed-signal hardware systems.
• Strong experience with FPGA and DSP-based hardware platforms.
• Proven expertise with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, SERDES, SRIO, JESD, and Ethernet.
• Extensive PCB design experience including schematic capture, board architecture, and design reviews.
• Strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and high-speed digital design principles.
• Hands-on experience with board bring-up, hardware validation, verification, and debugging.
• Experience developing products compliant with EMI, EMC, and thermal requirements.
• Experience within defence, aerospace, satellite communications, telecommunications, networking, radar, or other high-performance electronics sectors is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
