Requirements

Master's Degree in the relevant field.
-
Microelectronic design for Integrated Circuits (digital and mixed-signal, wiredand wireless), FPGA, IP Cores.
-
Microelectronic development projects from conception through qualification to application.
-
Microelectronics functional and performance verification, validation, qualification and acceptance.
-
Microelectronic technology, design methods and tools from HW-SW co-design, architecture modelling/analysis, circuit (schematic/hardware description languages), (high-level) synthesis, place and route, layout to verification, validation testing and application deployment.

Management, monitoring and supporting of industrial microelectronic activities.
-
Microelectronic standards for commercial and space applications.
-
A good knowledge of the English language. Other languages are an asset.
Legal and Security Requirements

All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands.

Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. SSC Space Netherlands will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA.

Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to SSC Space Netherlands a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident.

Candidates must be eligible for a security personal clearance from an EU Member State national security administration.
Responsibilities
Microelectronics technical competence:
-
Microelectronic design for Integrated Circuits (digital and mixed-signal, wired and wireless), FPGA, IP Cores.
-
Microelectronic development projects from conception through qualification to application.
-
Microelectronics functional and performance verification, validation, qualification and acceptance.
-
Microelectronic technology, design methods and tools from HW-SW co-design, architecture modelling/analysis, circuit (schematic/hardware description languages), (high-level) synthesis, place and route, layout to verification,
-
validation testing and application deployment.
-
Management, monitoring and supporting of industrial microelectronic activities.
-
Microelectronic standards for commercial and space application.
-
Implementation of digital signal processing algorithms in FPGAs (i.e. understanding of filtering, FFT, sampling theory, etc.), accelerators, digital signal processors, microprocessors and/or ASICs.
-
FPGA, RF-SoC and/or ASIC design, simulation, verification, debugging, synthesis, layout and tools.
-
Design methodology and tools for reusable IP cores.
-
Integrated circuit functional, electrical, and environmental testing.
Experience in two or more specific competences is considered to be advantageous:
-
Implementation of algorithms for base band communication (demodulation, modulation, coding, decoding, error correction in general and satellite communication and/or 3GPP specifically), GNSS, SAR and/or image/video signal processing.

System level modelling with Matlab, SystemC and/or SystemVerilog.
-
Communication base band, GNSS, Artificial Intelligence and/or image/video processor architectures.
Expertise in the following topics will be considered as beneficial:

RISC-V, SPARC and ARM processor instruction set architectures (ISA) and their extensions.
-
Spacewire, Spacefibre, Ethernet, PCIe, JESD204, CAN and MIL-STD-1553 interfaces.
-
Hardware Software Co-design.
-
High-Level Synthesis and Auto-coding.
-
Hardware Description Language coding rules and linting tools.
-
Programming in C, C++ and Python.

The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
