Job Description

About Astrobase Space Technologies

Astrobase is a pioneering spacetech startup founded by prominent Senior ISRO scientists and IIT Bombay alumni with over 20 years of experience in designing, manufacturing, testing and flying advanced Cryogenic Launch Vehicles. Driven by a vision to make India a Space tech powerhouse, we are developing innovative launch vehicles that will transform space exploration. At Astrobase, you’ll be part of a team creating history in the Indian space industry. Our goal is to become the first private space company from India to land on the moon economically.

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in high-reliability electronics design for aerospace, launch vehicles, spacecraft, automotive, or other safety-critical systems.
  • Strong experience in analog, digital, and mixed-signal hardware design.
  • Proven background in power electronics, embedded processing hardware, and sensor/actuator interfaces.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC-aware design practices and environmental robustness.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, and system-level testing.
  • Familiarity with aerospace hardware development and verification practices.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION

  • Hands-on electronic hardware design experience, including schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout (e.g., Altium, Cadence/OrCAD, or KiCad).
  • Strong analog and digital circuit design skills — switch-mode and linear power supplies, DC-DC converters, sensor signal conditioning, and motor/valve drive electronics.
  • Component selection, derating, and worst-case circuit analysis for high-reliability, space-grade electronics.
  • Board bring-up and debugging using oscilloscopes and logic analysers, with attention to signal integrity, grounding, and EMI/EMC.
  • FPGA- or microcontroller-based embedded hardware design and integration.
  • Prior experience with launch vehicle or propulsion-related electronics (engine control units, valve drivers, ignition systems).
  • Experience designing redundant or fault-tolerant avionics architectures.
  • Exposure to deterministic communication interfaces such as CAN, RS-422/485, SPI, Ethernet, or TSN.
  • Experience supporting hardware through multiple flight or qualification cycles.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards and qualification processes.
