About the Role

The HARMAN EPIC (Early Pursuits with Innovative Concepts) experience team is responsible for the Harman’s Car Audio innovation process and creates new car audio concept’s that are used to grow Harman’s position as an industry leader in the premium automotive audio space. Often these concepts are build into a concept vehicle. The EPIC team supports all HARMAN automotive brands with strong iconic perceptual in-car audio experiences created with understanding and respect for each brand’s DNA - based on creativity, innovation and new technologies and research within acoustic, sound field control, simulations, interaction, materials, mechanical design and user-friendly user interfaces. The EPIC team primarily works on new concepts to support sales pitches towards OEM customers OR as generic concepts to be showcased at CES and similar tech events. The EPIC experience team owns most parts of the conceptual work if not all, including the user experience, system design, software components, hardware components, acoustic tuning, trim parts and fabrication of the demo car.  The EPIC experience team is a highly competent team of 100+ people including technical fellows & distinguished engineers located in 6 countries (US, Denmark, Germany, India, Japan and China) across domains of user experience, system design, hardware, software and acoustics. The EPIC software team in Bangalore will be working closely together with the global project teams on application development as well as embedded software solutions and the team is now around 10 people. If you are interested in working in a global creative environment where the end-user experience is your main focus and you bring an innovative and solution oriented mindset you might be the perfect candidate for this role. 

What You Will Do 

• As part of the creation of cross domain Automotive engineering and experience assets, you will be supporting the physical hardware and software in-vehicle system integration of tomorrow’s Harman Automotive products. 
• Take part in the design and incubation of innovative vehicle networking and gateway product and technology concepts. 
• Support the physical in-vehicle system integration for Harman Automotive products, based on defined architectures and strategies. 
• Support the fabrication team in the hands-on in-vehicle system integration and vehicle build.  
• Support system, functionality, integration, regression testing, End-to-end Testing. 
• Support debugging. 
• Closely collaborate with internal product and technology departments, architects, technology suppliers on relevant future technologies and product concepts. 
• Work collaboratively with both the local and the global EPIC organization. 
• Handover the work done as part of the concept/demo to the global engineering team including documentation. 

What You Need to Be Successful 

• High level of passion and interest in automotive systems.  
• Interest and ideally knowledge within E/E system integration, body electronics, gateway technologies, high-speed networking, sensor and actuator interfaces and practical knowledge on vehicle network systems like Ethernet Switch, CAN bus gateways technologies and related protocols as well as network security protocols. 
• Ideally experience in testing / system verification.  
• Team player being able to work in a team with members spread around the globe. 
• Structured and analytical thinking as well as ability to think outside the box. 
• Ability to create instructions and specifications that guides the engineering and fabrication teams to create the optimum in-vehicle system components installations. 
• Should be able to adapt quickly to new technologies. 
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
