Job Description

ERETS Space Research Labs is seeking an experienced Satellite Electronics Engineer (Consultant) to join our growing spacecraft engineering team. The successful candidate will provide independent technical oversight and validation of electrical and electronic subsystems being developed for our upcoming satellite missions focused on Space Situational Awareness (SSA) and Space Debris Detection & Mitigation .

This is a senior consulting opportunity suited to professionals with extensive experience in spacecraft electronics and satellite electrical systems. Outstanding consultants may be considered for full-time opportunities as our missions progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently review and validate spacecraft electrical and electronic subsystem designs developed by the engineering team.
  • Assess overall spacecraft electrical architecture, power distribution and subsystem integration.
  • Review Electrical Power System (EPS) designs, including battery management, solar array interfaces, power regulation and power budgeting.
  • Validate electronic circuit designs, schematics, PCB layouts and component selection for space applications.
  • Review analyses related to power consumption, electrical margins, efficiency and redundancy.
  • Assess electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) considerations and recommend design improvements.
  • Validate harness design, connector selection, grounding, shielding and electrical interfaces between spacecraft subsystems.
  • Review radiation tolerance strategies, component derating and reliability analyses for space environments.
  • Participate in System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR) and Flight Readiness Review (FRR), providing independent technical recommendations.
  • Support verification, validation and qualification of electrical subsystems, including functional testing, vibration, thermal vacuum and environmental testing.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior electronics engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.
  • Prepare technical review reports identifying risks, recommendations and design improvements prior to flight qualification.
