SSenior Electronics Design Engineer - FPGA Design

We are looking for a Senior FPGA Design Engineer to join our Electronics team at OHB. In this role, you will design and verify FPGA firmware for high-precision space applications, including control systems, vibration suppression, and high-resolution data processing for satellites.

You will work on technically challenging projects where performance, reliability, and radiation tolerance are critical. This is an opportunity to contribute to real space missions while working with advanced FPGA technologies in a collaborative engineering environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Define and analyze technical requirements for FPGA-based systems
• Design FPGA architecture and break down requirements into functional blocks
• Develop and implement FPGA designs using VHDL, including constraints and documentation
• Create test benches and perform RTL and timing simulations
• Conduct formal verification activities (timing analysis, code coverage, coding rules)
• Support FPGA integration and testing on target hardware
• Define verification concepts and execute hardware-in-the-loop testing
• Develop automated test setups for hardware validation

Your Profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in FPGA design and verification, ideally in the space or aerospace industry
• Strong expertise in VHDL for synthesis and behavioral modeling
• Experience with industry-standard tools (e.g. Libero, ModelSim)
• Knowledge of ECSS standards (ECSS-E-ST-20-40 and ECSS-Q-ST-60-02)
• Experience with radiation mitigation techniques for space applications
• Knowledge of digital signal processing and control algorithms
• Programming skills in C/C++ or Python
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
