Robotics Jobs Panama City — Robotics Engineer (Remote)

In this full-time, mid-senior remote role, you will develop production-grade robotics software spanning perception, SLAM, planning, controls, simulation, deployment, and QA validation for safe robot operation.
What You’ll Do

Build and maintain robot software components (ROS2 nodes, middleware integration, device drivers)

Develop autonomy features: SLAM, localization, mapping, motion planning, and control loops

Implement perception pipelines using computer vision and sensor fusion for real-time operation

Integrate sensors such as LiDAR, cameras, and IMU; support calibration and reliability

Create simulation and testing harnesses (Gazebo, unit/integration tests, HIL/SIL) to validate behaviors

Define evaluation metrics and run structured QA validation to prevent regressions

Support training-data workflows: data collection, labeling specs, dataset versioning, and data quality checks

Collaborate with ML and QA teams on deployment constraints (latency/compute/robustness) and monitoring
Qualifications

Mid-Senior experience shipping robotics systems or autonomy features in production or field trials

Strong Python and C++ skills for robotics software engineering

Hands-on ROS2 experience and familiarity with robotics tooling and debugging

Knowledge of motion planning, controls, state estimation, SLAM, and sensor fusion

Comfort with remote collaboration, documentation, code reviews, and structured testing
Nice to have

Fleet operations/telemetry and incident response for deployed robots

Reinforcement learning or policy learning exposure

Experience with labeling QA or evaluation workflows for training data quality
Compensation
Hourly base pay range: $30–$50 (USD), depending on experience and scope.
