Robotics Engineer (Salvador) — Remote, Full-Time
Rex.zone connects mid-senior robotics engineers with remote full-time opportunities building and deploying real-world robotics systems. You will design, implement, and validate autonomous and semi-autonomous robot software across perception, SLAM/localization, motion planning, controls, simulation, and field reliability.
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain ROS2 nodes, services, and interfaces for robot autonomy

Build perception pipelines using computer vision and sensor fusion (RGB-D, LiDAR, IMU)

Implement localization and mapping (SLAM), calibration, and drift mitigation

Design motion planning and control modules; tune controllers for stability and smoothness

Create simulation-first validation in Gazebo/Isaac Sim with reproducible test scenarios

Write automated tests, CI checks, and performance benchmarks for releases

Analyze logs/telemetry to diagnose field issues and improve reliability, latency, and uptime

Collaborate with hardware, QA, and product on safety requirements and deployment processes
Qualifications

Mid-senior experience building production robotics systems

Strong Python and C++ on Linux; debugging, profiling, and tooling

Hands-on experience with ROS2 and distributed robot software

Understanding of kinematics, control systems, and state estimation

Experience with SLAM, motion planning, and navigation stacks

Comfortable working remotely with clear documentation and async collaboration
