Role Description The Robotics Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Ballinger, TX. This role focuses on designing, integrating, and testing robotic systems for Quantum Forge Robotics platforms, including navigation, perception, and control components. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and optimizing software for robotic behavior, collaborating with hardware engineers on sensor and actuator integration, and troubleshooting system-level performance in lab and industrial settings. The Robotics Engineer will document designs, testing procedures, and results, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet safety, reliability, and performance standards. The role also involves continuous improvement of existing product lines and contributing to new product concepts and prototypes.

Qualifications

  • Robotics and process automation skills, including experience with robotic platforms, control systems, and industrial automation workflows.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex system issues, interpret data, and optimize performance.
  • Software development skills, ideally in languages such as C++, Python, or ROS-based frameworks, applied to real-time or embedded systems.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and document technical work.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with sensor integration (e.g., LiDAR, cameras, IMUs) and motion planning or SLAM is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with safety standards for industrial robots and experience testing systems in lab or production environments is a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site in Ballinger, TX, and engage in hands-on prototyping, testing, and system validation.
