Role:
FPGA Design Research Engineer responsible for architecting and developing embedded systems for real-time controls and industrial communication applications.
Responsibilities:
Develop FPGA solutions, simulate, test, and optimize embedded systems, collaborate with external agencies and academic partners, and assist in transitioning prototypes to field-ready products. Contribute to research efforts, publish technical papers, and file patents.
Qualifications & Skills:
Ph.D., Master’s with industry experience, or Bachelor’s with extensive experience in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Expertise in FPGA/SoC design using Verilog, VHDL, and SystemVerilog, with experience in Xilinx/Intel tools, digital logic, RTL simulation, high-speed interfaces, and hardware verification. Knowledge of embedded programming, Linux systems, and version control is preferred.
Additional Attributes:
Experience with real-time embedded applications, microcontrollers, embedded programming, and low-level firmware is desirable. Must have legal work authorization in the U.S. and be willing to work in Niskayuna, NY.
