Job Description

Quantum Hardware Physicist – Superconducting Qubits

Parity Quantum Computing GmbH

(Innsbruck / Hamburg, Full-time, m/w/x)

Who We Are

ParityQC is a quantum architecture company. We don’t build quantum hardware ourselves—instead, we collaborate with hardware manufacturers to develop blueprints for quantum processors. At the same time, we design tailored processes and algorithms that optimize the performance of current and future quantum hardware. At the core of this approach lies our operating system, ParityOS.

About the Role

We are looking for a Quantum Hardware Physicist (Superconducting Qubits) to join our team of theoretical physicists. In this role, you will be instrumental in realizing the ParityQC Architecture using superconducting qubits, working closely with our hardware partners.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct theoretical research on superconducting circuits to develop innovative quantum processor architectures.
  • Analyze the performance of quantum algorithms on superconducting hardware, enhance their efficiency, and demonstrate improvements on real hardware.
  • Design and optimize superconducting circuits, including developing custom tools for simulation and analysis.

Your Profile

Required Skills & Experience

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Physics or a related field.
  • Proven experience with superconducting circuits in the context of quantum computation (either theoretical or experimental).
  • Strong programming skills, particularly in Python.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

What We Offer

We are a pioneering spin-off shaping the future of quantum computing. There are no established paths in what we do — we invent, explore, and define the standards for a new era of computation.

We offer the freedom to conduct and publish your research in peer-reviewed journals, collaborate within an international and motivated team, and work flexibly — including remote options.

The Details

In accordance with the Equal Treatment Act, we would like to point out that the minimum salary for this position in Austria is based on the IT Collective Agreement, classification ST1. A market-competitive overpayment is intended and depends on your qualifications and relevant professional experience. An equivalent approach is also foreseen for Germany.

**Please submit a copy of your CV and a cover letter to [email protected] stating why you would be interested in working at ParityQC and why your experience is relevant**
