Your Role
We are looking for a Principal Robotics Engineer
to lead and drive innovation in our robotic applications. This role is a highly technical, hands-on position focused on architecting, developing, and advancing intelligent robotic systems. As a Principal, you will act as the technical authority for robotics at Circu Li-ion, shaping the evolution of our robotic platforms while working closely with cross-functional teams to bring cutting-edge solutions from concept to production.
Your Responsibilities

Lead and drive innovation in Circu Li-ion’s robotic applications, from advanced research and prototyping to production deployment.

Serve as the technical owner and subject-matter expert for robotics software, with a strong focus on ROS and ROS2 architectures and their latest advancements.

Architect, implement, and continuously evolve intelligent robotic control systems

Design, develop, and maintain ROS/ROS2-based robotic software stacks, ensuring scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

Write detailed product and system specifications and lead the overall software design strategy for robotics-related products within the Circu Li-ion portfolio.

Collaborate with leadership, R&D, product, and manufacturing teams to influence long-term robotics and automation technology roadmaps.

Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and design reviews for robotics engineers and software developers and lead their effort towards the best technical solution.

Support and manage technical relationships with external software consultants and technology partners as needed.
Your Profile
-
Advanced degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.

10+ years of hands-on experience in robotics development
, preferably within industrial or manufacturing environments.

Deep expertise in
advanced robotic frameworks (ROS, ROS2)
, with a proven track record of:

Task and path planning for a 6-DoF robot, 2-DoF loading station, and bespoke end-effectors in complex, collision-rich environments.

Developing and maintaining high-fidelity digital twin simulations and implementing calibration procedures to ensure alignment between simulation and real systems.

Implementing closed-loop control algorithms in collaboration with perception and vision teams.

Passion for robotics innovation and staying at the forefront of
ROS/ROS2 advancements and the broader robotics ecosystem

Strong background in system architecture, software design, and robotics software industrialization.

Proven experience in
industrial robot programming
(ABB, KUKA, FANUC, or similar).

Proven ability to lead technically complex projects from concept through deployment.
