Role Description
The PCB Design Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. In this role, the engineer will design, develop, and optimize printed circuit boards for various electronic products, collaborating closely with electrical, mechanical, and product teams. Daily responsibilities include creating and reviewing schematics and PCB layouts, performing design-for-manufacturability and design-for-test checks, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety requirements. The engineer will work with CAD tools to iterate designs, support prototype builds, troubleshoot design issues, and contribute to documentation such as design specifications, bills of materials, and test plans. The role also involves interfacing with manufacturing partners, participating in design reviews, and continuously improving design processes to enhance product reliability and performance.
Qualifications

Strong foundation in Design Engineering and Product Design, with experience translating requirements into robust PCB solutions.

Background in Electrical Engineering, with practical knowledge of circuitry, signal integrity, power distribution, and component selection.

Experience in Mechanical Engineering and understanding of enclosure constraints, thermal management, and mechanical integration of PCBs.

Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for PCB layout and schematic capture (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, or similar).

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.

Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IPC) and design-for-manufacturability, design-for-test, and PCB fabrication processes.

Ability to interpret datasheets, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate technical information clearly.

Experience with prototyping, debugging, and using lab equipment (such as oscilloscopes and multimeters) is beneficial.
