Job Description

About The Role

In this role, you will design and develop advanced robotics solutions across multiple domains, including ground, aerial, and underwater systems. As part of the SoftServe Robotics Group, you will work on end-to-end robotics systems — from prototyping to production — combining perception, planning, control, and system integration in both simulated and real-world environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robotics solutions for mobile robots, drones, and autonomous systems
  • Build rapid prototypes and evolve them into production-ready solutions
  • Develop and maintain complex robotics systems, including perception, planning, and control components
  • Test robotics solutions in simulation and real-world environments
  • Work with simulation tools such as Gazebo, NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Bullet, or CARLA
  • Integrate robotic systems with cloud services for scalability and enhanced functionality
  • Design automation solutions to improve efficiency and precision across industries
  • Ensure system performance, reliability, and maintainability through testing and CI/CD practices
  • Contribute to system architecture design, including HW/SW integration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on robotics system development and deployment

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software development with strong expertise in C/C++ and Python
  • MSc in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Applied Mathematics, or related field
  • Hands-on experience with robotics frameworks (ROS/ROS2, RViz)
  • Practical experience in mobile robots, drones, AMRs, AGVs, AVs, or automotive systems
  • Strong knowledge of robotics domains: perception, trajectory planning, kinematics, obstacle avoidance
  • Experience with simulation tools (Gazebo, Isaac Sim, Bullet, CARLA)
  • Solid understanding of sensors, actuators, and control systems
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
  • Strong background in system design, architecture, and performance evaluation
  • Experience with testing, CI/CD, build, deployment, and monitoring processes
  • Familiarity with functional safety standards and system reliability practices
  • Experience with odometry solutions such as LIO-SAM
  • Knowledge of CUDA or hardware acceleration techniques (nice to have)
  • Strong analytical skills and mathematical foundation
  • Good English communication skills
  • Experience in technical presentations, workshops, or client-facing activities (would be a plus)
  • Proficiency in communication with senior stakeholders, including C-level (as a bonus)
