The team you will be a part of

The Electrical Engineering team designs, develops or coordinates development of components, small systems, quality systems, processes or materials.

This Role In Summary

Responsible for managing and delivering HARDWARE Development for Whirlpool Products. Mentoring and Monitoring team’s work. Bringing good practices for driving continuous improvement in existing processes

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support throughout the hardware development lifecycle to team members.

  • Lead technical forum within team and amongst cross technology teams to share knowledge and best practices
  • Pro-active knowledge documentation and sharing within team and amongst cross technology teams
  • Oversee the design and development of embedded hardware systems, including microcontrollers, microprocessors, PCBs, and other electronic components.
  • Collaborate closely with the software engineering team to ensure seamless integration between hardware and software components.
  • Plan and execute hardware development projects, defi ning milestones, timelines, and resource allocation to achieve project objectives effi ciently.
  • Conduct thorough hardware testing and validation to ensure the reliability, performance, and compliance of the hardware designs.
  • Review and approve schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, and other hardware design documents created by the team.
  • Make strategic decisions regarding component selection, sourcing, and vendor relationships to optimize cost, quality, and availability.
  • Optimize hardware designs for power effi ciency, performance, and manufacturability.
  • Address technical challenges and roadblocks, proposing innovative solutions and leading the team to successful outcomes.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in embedded hardware development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and manufacturing, to ensure successful product launches.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the hardware engineering team.
  • Ensure all hardware design activities are documented thoroughly and comply with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Qualifi cations :
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Power Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum 9-12 years experience in household appliance/consumer electronics hardware development, circuit design and verifi cation (microcontrollers, mixed-signal components, motor controls and AC to DC power conversion, Power Electronics)
  • Proven expertise in designing digital and analog circuits, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
  • Extensive knowledge of microcontrollers/microprocessors and various embedded systems architectures.
  • Strong familiarity with communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, and wireless protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools and test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Power Electronics Engineering

  • Minimum 9-12 years experience in household appliance/consumer electronics hardware development, circuit design and verifi cation (microcontrollers, mixed-signal components, motor controls and AC to DC power conversion, Power Electronics)

Preferred Skills And Experiences

Agency standards (UL, IEC, CE, CQC, CCC) experience must

  • Profi cient in using CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad).
  • Thorough understanding of power management techniques and low-power design principles.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical and regulatory compliance in embedded systems.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and team collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patents/ Research / External presentations :
  • Technical rigor for patent fi lling and desirable to have patents
