  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Strong technical background with either Automated Test Equipment (ATE), Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), or Electrical Test Consoles.
  • Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with either Automated Test Equipment (ATE), Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), or Electrical Test Consoles.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Windchill, JIRA, Confluence, CREO, Zuken

Job Description

The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program is seeking an

Lead Electronics Engineer to join the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) team.

Location: This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility at one of the Coolest places to work: Cape Canaveral FL and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

What does this role look like?

This is a lead role for an experienced professional working to sustain legacy test consoles that verify mission packages meet all requirements as built. In this role the you will lead a team of engineers, interface with internal organizations, and interface with our customer set, supporting the FBM program for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE).

The successful candidate will have sufficient technical learning ramp time to become a Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) within 12-18 months.

Key Activities You Will Accomplish In This Role

  • Utilize your engineering knowledge and troubleshooting skills to sustain test consoles and support FBM production testing.
  • Lead design updates to existing test consoles when obsolescence or operational inefficiencies are identified.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for multiple consoles with Responsibility, Accountability, and Authority (RAA).
  • Support Failure Review Board activities through closure as the cognizant authority.
  • Interface with suppliers, customer and internal design teams to maintain console operational status
  • Mentor Junior engineers, interface extensively with out customers, as well as senior leadership.
  • Must be willing to travel approximately 25%.
  • The successful candidate will have sufficient technical learning ramp time to become a Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) within 12-18 months.

To Be Effective In This Role, You Will Need

  • Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware
  • 5+ years professional experience.
  • While no clearance is needed to start this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. US Citizenship is required.

Desired Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead/coordinate with small diverse teams in sustainment of tech products.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to work autonomously, drive items to closure, and lead teams through task completion.
  • Previous experience with supplier technical support, travel for troubleshooting, and remote troubleshooting.
  • Previous experience communicating and presenting to senior management.
