Job Description

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

  • Lead and manage a team of firmware and algorithm developers, actively shaping product development in an international company.
  • Foster the professional and personal development of team members through coaching, training, and constructive feedback.
  • Ensure integrated product development in close coordination with hardware development, quality assurance, product management, and other international stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the conception and further development of firmware solutions for real-time and embedded systems, making architectural decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Establish and optimize software engineering standards (e.g., code reviews, CI/CD, test strategies, coding guidelines) to ensure high quality, reliability, and security of developed firmware.
  • Ensure that legal, normative, and cybersecurity requirements in the embedded environment are considered and implemented in all development processes.

What You'll Need

  • Degree in computer science, technical informatics, electrical engineering, or a comparable technical field.
  • Several years of experience in firmware/embedded development and experience in disciplinary and/or lateral leadership of development teams.
  • Profound knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++ as well as real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems.
  • Experience in implementing modern and agile development methodologies (e.g., Git, Agile, Scrum).
  • Ideally, experience with legal and normative requirements (e.g., in industrial/device development) and cybersecurity requirements in the embedded environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, structured and solution-oriented way of working, and high quality awareness.
