Job Description

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

  • Lead mechanical design and integration of delivery robots into last-mile delivery ecosystem
  • Own mechanical systems for in-van robot docking, charging, storage, deployment, and retrieval
  • Design station-side cart docking and robot handoff workflows
  • Translate operational requirements into production-ready mechanical designs
  • Partner with cross-functional teams for end-to-end system integration
  • Drive designs through concept, prototyping, validation, and production

What You'll Need

  • Strong mechanical design expertise in vehicle engineering and robotics hardware
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures
  • Ability to balance robustness, cost, serviceability, and manufacturability in high-volume logistics
  • Knowledge of safety, ergonomics, and regulatory requirements (vehicle and workplace safety standards)
  • Experience optimizing designs for cost, manufacturability, durability, and ease of maintenance
  • Ability to rapidly iterate designs based on real-world feedback and field testing
